Working hand-in-hand with the Greater Liberty Chamber of Commerce and Main Street merchants, we are working to attract new tenants onto Main Street.
We provide technical assistance to established businesses to help them improve and expand their business, and also assist them, for example, in improving their storefronts and contributing to the ongoing beautification of Main Street.
There are historic buildings on Main Street with the potential to be developed in new and creative ways, such as commercial condominiums, where start-up operations can grow into successful establishments.
The Downtown Liberty Historic District is listed on the State Register of Historic Places and will shortly also be listed on the National Register. Read more about it here.
In light of the disruption to Liberty's business district caused by the current NY State Dept. of Transport reconstruction work along Mill and Main Streets, the Village of Liberty has made a number of short term, low interest loans available to local businesses whose income has decreased during this period.
